Man On Wire - The Ultimate Lightness

He finally laid down a strip of wire between the top corners of the twin buildings.
His (artistic or architectural) intervention seemed as simple as you put a finger on the building,
but it started to create sense of immeasurable tension and depth in space.
The ultimate lightness began to perform.

Man on Wire is a 2008 documentary film directed by James Marsh.
A series of photos captured the beautiful moment where he had become a dot in the infinite, empty space(air) between the twin towers. What is more impressive about the happening in 70's was the process he and his friends took to get to the final performance. The creative solutions to make that happen were enabled through collaboration, debates, negotiations, tricks, patience, rigorous measurement and failure in an earlier attempt.

"The beauty of doing this was there was no why.", Philippe Petit
